Assurance Package Payout

The Assurance Package 2024 is a financial support program offered by the Singapore government to help citizens cope with the rising cost of living. The package includes a one-time cash payout of up to $2,250 for eligible individuals.

Assurance Package 2024 Payout

The Singaporean government introduced the Assurance Package to provide financial assistance to its citizens in mitigating the rising cost of living. The 2024 iteration of this initiative offers two key payouts:

  • B2024 Cost-of-Living (COL) Special Payment
  • Assurance Package (AP) Cash

This one-off payment was introduced as part of the enhanced Assurance Package during Budget 2024. There’s no application required for either the B2024 COL Special Payment or the AP Cash payout.

Assurance Package 2024 Payout Eligibility Criteria

The Assurance Package 2024 payout eligibility criteria differ slightly depending on whether you’re looking at the following:

B2024 Cost-of-Living (COL) Special Payment

This is a one-off payment introduced specifically for 2024.

  • You must be a Singapore Citizen residing in Singapore.
  • It would be best if you were aged 21 and above in 2024.
  • Your Assessable Income for the Year of Assessment 2023 (income earned in 2022) must not exceed $100,000.
  • Your Assessable Income (AI) refers to your total income after deducting allowable expenses and approved donations. It includes employment income, trade income, and other income such as rental income.
  • Property Ownership: You must not own more than one property in Singapore.

Assurance Package (AP) Cash

This is the annual cash payout disbursed in December. However, the payout you receive in December 2024 is actually for the income you earned in 2022.

  • You must be a Singapore Citizen residing in Singapore.
  • You must be aged 21 and above in 2025. The AP Cash payout looks at your age in 2025 (for the December 2024 payout).
  • Income: The B2024 COL Special Payment is based on your 2022 income (assessed in YA 2023), while the AP Cash payout for December 2024 does not have an income requirement, as it is based on the previous year’s assessment.
